SPOTTED: Hottest Beauty Trends at the 2017 SAG Awards

I guess we can address the elephant in the room, the SAG Awards were not like any other this year. First off celebrities came to the Screen Actors Guild Awards with their A-game on in the beauty department – deep side-parts, vampy lips, bold eye shadows, you name it, they had it going on. But the SAG Awards doubled as an open forum for A-listers to discuss the major changes in the political department. But can we just say, Winona’s facial expressions was exactly what the world needed in that very moment! You go girl!

Gemstone Eyeshadow

No doubt that the gemstone eye shadow trend was here to stay. From emeralds to amethysts and even some rubies, we noticed that metallics and royal hues were taking the stage on the red carpet.

Emma Stone: Mix Deca Moss ($17.95) and Deca Peacock ($17.95) to give that high impact metallic sheen
Kerry Washington: On the inner portion add Deca Pearl Grey ($17.95) and smoke out Deca Slate ($17.95) on the outer corners
Sophia Bush: Play around with colours using Beauty-Treats Color Eyeshadow Palette (available in select stores)

Sleek Deep Side Part

We’re calling the sleek hair trend the cashmere sweater of hair. Super simple, yet put together and it was seen everywhere on the red carpet. However, we picked our top sleek looks paired with a deep side part, and as you probably noticed too, the deep side part was an easy go-to-look this evening. So why not get the best of both worlds here?

To Get This Look
It’s always easier to achieve this look right out of the shower, however, this look is still achievable on dry hair. With a styling comb part your hair where you feel is the most comfortable for your side part to go. We think the most flattering deep side part should be placed where your eyebrow arch peaks. If you’re starting with dry hair and finding the part impossible to stick, you can dampen the hair with a heat protectant before you begin blow drying.

Begin blow drying the side of the hair with the least amount of hair in a downward motion. Do the same on the opposite side of your part, but be sure to blow dry away from the part. You only need to let your hair be 80% dry.

To set and lock in the “wet” look for the sleek part, brush your hair and set it witha

It’s time to spice things up this season with some vampy, bold lips. Of course the deep plums and reds have been a hit for a while, but you can never go wrong with a bold lip.  These gorgeous shades will really make an impact and update your winter makeup ASAP!
